For 26 years, The View From Madeleine's Couch has been at the vanguard of Brazilian music in Australia, forging a glorious and lush sonic path through Brazilian jazz and bossa nova, and writing award-nominated and award-winning music across a career that includes the release of two EPs and three critically acclaimed albums.

Audiences at their live shows bear witness to the exceptional musicianship, camaraderie and delight the band shares in the music they've dedicated themselves to, spanning the work of famous composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim, Roberto Menescal, Joyce Moreno and Joao Donato, while also featuring original songs inspired by the gorgeous harmonies and rhythms of Brazil.

Led by Anje West (vocals and percussion) and Kym Ambrose (vibraphone), with longtime bandmates Bruce Woodward (guitar), OJ Newcomb (bass), and Paul Hudson/Lachlan Hawkins, (drums), the band has carved out their own niche in Australia's musical landscape, with a voice on the contemporary world and jazz scenes that is uniquely theirs.

" The way you all worked together beautifully to make this music, was so incredibly entertaining" (T. Grant - Powerhouse 25th Anniversary concert)

"That was the greatest show I've seen by a Queensland band in years" (N. Mengel - Powerhouse 25th Anniversary Concert)

"They've got the Brazilian spirit and they're really doing this very well" (Mazinho Ventura - bassist, Marcos Valle).
