Stephanie Taylor has been captivating audiences locally and throughout Australia with her sophistication as a performer for over fifteen years. She is at home on stage - whether this be in the intimate setting in a cozy jazz club or performing at the Concert Hall of QPAC with a full orchestra. Stephanie’s innovative approach to contemporary song and jazz improvisation is refreshing in its authenticity and creativity.
Stephanie is a well known performer in the Brisbane jazz, corporate and jazz festival scene and considers herself fortunate to have worked alongside some of the finest musicians found both locally and across Australia. Stephanie’s forthcoming album of original jazz compositions will be released in 2024 and will feature Perth based, award winning saxophonist Gemma Farrell.
Recent engagements have included Stephanie performing to sold out audiences with her quintet at the Brisbane Jazz Club in September 2023, while in August she performed to sold out audiences as a part of the 2023 Brisbane Jazz Vocal Festival. Her trio project with Brisbane based singer-songwriter Kieran Stevenson and Joseph Rabjohns sold out the Junk Bar in December 2022 and they return again this December. Stephanie has also performed at a myriad of events at Wineism Bar and GOMA in the last twelve months and is thrilled to be apart of this year’s program for the Brisbane International Jazz Festival 2023.
Stephanie has travelled to New York on numerous occasions as has studied privately with Grammy award nominated jazz artists Theo Bleckmann and Sara Gazerek, together with Jeanette LoVetri, Dr Trineice Robinson Martin, Brenda Earl Stokes and has taken courses at The Jazz Workshop NYC and Berklee College of Music.
