The Enthusiastic Musician’s Orchestra (EMO) is Brisbane’s premier vehicle for the composition and performance of new and exciting music for large jazz ensemble. EMO has a long history of performing music specifically written for the ensemble by Brisbane composer’s including Andrew Butt (Winner of the 2014/2014 QMA’s Jazz Award), Josh Hatcher, Wade Gregory, Joseph O’Commor (National Jazz Award Winner), Chris Vale, Lachlan Bell, James Ball, Andrew Garton and Sophie Min.
EMO has released three albums of original Australian music and collaborated with some of the world’s finest jazz artists such as Julien Arguelles (UK saxophonist/Dave Holland), Dale Barlow (saxophonist with Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers), John Riley (Village Vanguard Orchestra) and Kristin Berardi (Winner 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival’s International Vocal Competition).
